The Plunger
What are you looking for said my wife as she saw me on my knees rummaging in the utility cupboard. The plunger I said, "what would you want with the plunger " she asked quizzically. You see in our house my wife is the "Mr Fixit " and she is very adept at using the plunger. I just want it for an experiment I said as my hand clasped around the handle. Off upstairs I went leaving my wife scratching her head. A plunger is a rubber suction cup used to clear a blocked drain. I went into the bathroom for a target to carry out my litterary piece. I tried the bathroom plug-hole pushing the plunger as hard as I could, all I heard was was a sound like plonk , plonk plonk and just a trickle of water appeared. Next I decided to try the wash-basin. I enacted the same proceedure and this time I could hear a loud swoosh sound followed by a chug chug, chug. I tried again and up came a few tiny pieces of pink soap. I also encountered some strands of hair but nothing else. After cleanig up I returned the plunger to it's resting place giving my wife a wink as I made to the safety of the sitting-room.
